Today's entry was done with some downtime at work in between jobs- Thinking of what I could digitize, I picked "Melody Fiore". This was the first drawing I made about 2 weeks after giving birth to my daughter Melody .."Fiore" is Italian for flower :) .... I was so in love with my new baby, and my new growing family- I had to just spill it out in ink. It flowed quickly~ and I just love it. Elements of ocean life, seasons, birth, creation.... all there. So today I digitized Melody Fiore into an embroidery design, with small pieces of color for the outer hearts and flowers.
It's crazy how hand drawn lines can translate into stitches..... It was a trip watching the embroidery machine go over the same lines my pen did- looping and swirling and it was a nice break from the usual corporate logo.
It measures about 8x8" ..... so happy with her.....
Rayon thread on cotton~*
till tomorrow~*
much love*

awesomeness! I wanna try!
thats so beautiful...how long did it take for the machine to digitize it? That embroidery is strings of awesomeness!
the machine just reads the computer file--i digitized it---- i run the image through a computer program that allows me to regulate the spacing of the stitches, density, puffiness, etc.... it's a science of fiber and its behaviors.... :) It took me like 20 minutes to digitize- then i input the file into the machine and it reads it after i tell the machine what to sew and what color parts should be :)
